What is NU Campaign?

NU Campaign is a crowd-funding Apparel platform, allowing anyone, to create and launch your own apparel campaign for a charity, cause, project, event or loved-one, raising significant funding and awareness for your thing! At the close of each campaign, we send the shirts to your supporters and the money to a destination of your choice.
We think T-shirts are fun and engaging one of the most effective ways to impact a cause, as you ignite a community of supporters wearing your story on their sleeves and you pocket significant money raised from T-shirt sales.
Every NU shirt is printed with the story of the campaign, on the inside, by the wearer’s heart, so that you carry the message close with you and represent it with pride wherever you go!

Who can run a NU Campaign?

Anyone can create and launch their own T-shirt campaign for something of importance to them. Whether its a charity, cause, event, project, loved-one or just a good design idea, NU Campaign is an easy and free way to engage your community and make money online. How do I get started?

First step is to create an account. Click ‘Sign-Up’ at the top of the page and choose a username and password. Once done, go to ‘Start a Campaign’ and follow the simple steps.Choose your featured product and color; download the graphic template for your cover image; add your design and custom artwork to the template; upload the template to the ‘Start Page’; add your product description; inside story to be printed by the wearers heart; set your gift rewards; target goal and length of campaign. Remember to keep your details, so you can access your campaign page at any moment, in order to make changes.

How much money can I raise?

There is no limit to the amount of money you can raise! The more shirts you sell the more money you make! Click on ‘How to Set Gift Rewards’ on the ‘Start Campaign’ page to learn how much you can make per-shirt. You may also set ‘Donation’ amounts with no gift rewards

Does it cost money to start a NU Campaign?

If you have your own shirt design and custom artwork for the cover image, then setting up a campaign is free of charge.
If you require a custom design and artwork and would like to order it from the NU team, then there is a graphic fee, depending on the details of your design. For more information contact NU Campaign: info@nucampaign.org

How can I order a custom design for my campaign?

To order a customized T-shirt design, send an email to info@nucampaign.org or contact us through the website and we will connect you with one of our super-talented T-shirt designers. You will be asked to make a Paypal payment, depending on the details of your design, before you get started. The cost includes a unique design, two revisions of original concept and artwork for your cover image.

What products are available for NU campaigns?

You can choose from one of the following products per campaign: Unisex Crew-neck T-shirt, Ladies V-neck T-shirt (slim-fit); Cool-Dry Running Shirt and Hoodie (zip-up). Each Product is available in assortment of colors, available on the ‘Start a Campaign’ page. Once you click the type of product, the available colors will show automatically underneath the product images. Once you click the color of your choice, a grey download button will appear, which contains the template with the details of your product choice. This is used to prepare your cover image featured on the campaign page.

What fees do NU Campaign take?

For Gift-Reward campaigns, NU takes a set handling fee of $7 per shirt. The money goes toward ensuring that your shirts are produced to the highest quality and that they are packaged and shipped, on time, to your supporters. For ‘Donation Only’ campaigns, NU Campaign takes a 5% fee on donations made from campaigns that reach their target goal and 9% from campaigns that do not hit their target – this fee comes out of total amount raised at the closure of the campaign.

What happens if I do not sell the 20 shirt print minimum?

If the campaign is profitable we produce and ship your shirts. This is usually at 20 shirt sales. If your campaign is not profitable, then we refund your supporters at the close of the campaign, and your shirts will not be produced. Don’t take it to heart – running a successful campaign takes trial and error and if it does not work out first time, do not be afraid to try again!

How do I set my Gift Reward amounts?

NU Campaign allows you to set Pledged Gift amounts, for different quantities of shirts sold. Before you set your gifts there is a number of important points to know:
1. Pledged gift rewards are set on the Start a Campaign page – add the amount per-gift and a short description of what the person receives for that amount.
2. Click the ‘How to set gift rewards’ button on the Start a Campaign page to see how much money is raised for each gift
3. You may set as many gifts as you want but we advise 4-8 gifts per campaign
4. Each shirt has a minimum selling price of $22 and hoodie $34
5. There is no maximum selling price but we advise you to give it thought and be reasonable.
6. You can set a pledged gift, not connected to NU merchandising below $22, but you will be responsible for the delivery of that gift. For example you can set a pledged gift of $5 and give the person a ‘Virtual High-five’ or mention them on your Facebook wall or you can set a pledged gift for $200 and commit to take the person out for dinner, including a NU Campaign shirt.

7. You may also set Donation Amounts with NO gift reward, for any amount you wish

 

Are my funds raised taxable and who pays that?

By law, it is your responsibility to report any income you generate from your NU campaign. We advise you to consult with your accountant, tax advisor or attorney for more information. When NU Campaign sends you the money raised, you are required to issue us a receipt for payments received.

How will I receive the money I raise?

When you start your campaign you select a Paypal account, to where you want the money to go. When your campaign closes, we send the funds due, to that account.

How does NU calculate raised funds?

At the close of the campaign, the total amount raised, less the total cost of shirts sold and the shipping and service fee, equals the total amount raised. We print the shirts in bulk, therefore the more shirts you sell, the more money you raise, as the cost per-shirt is reduced the larger the order.

If I am not an official organization can I start a campaign?

Yes, anyone can start a campaign. You do not have to be an official non-for-profit organization and as long as you have a way to receive the funds i.e. Paypal account, then you can participate.

Can I start a campaign for my business?

Yes, we accept campaigns for businesses and for-profit purposes. NU Campaigns are a great way to get people to know about your business; market your service/s by wearing your shirts & raise money for your vision and goals.

How will the t-shirts be send to my supporters?

When your campaign closes, NU Campaign will produce, print, package and send the shirts to your supporters, anywhere in the world – with no hassle to you!

When will the funds be transferred to me?

Funds will be transfered to you, via Paypal, at the close of your campaign

How will I get my funds?

The money you raise from your campaign will be send to you or another destination you choose, via Paypal, at the close of your campaign.

How do I know the funds I pledge will go to the actual campaign?

Campaign owners information is displayed on the campaign page and you may contact them for further information about funding. In addition, NU Campaign conducts backround checks to make sure that each campaign is legitimate.

If I need help is there someone to talk to?

The NU Campaign team is available to help you – contact us through the website or send an email to info@www.nucampaign.org and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Can I choose the destination of funds raised?

Yes, you choose where you want the money you raise to go. Funds will be send to the destination of your choice, via Paypal, at the close of the campaign.

How much does it cost to order a custom design and required artwork?

If you require a custom design and artwork (main campaign image) and would like us to do it for you, then there is a graphic fee of $150-$200, depending on the details of your design. For more information send an email to info@www.nucampaign.org.

How much does it cost to order my campaign shirt in bulk?

Your NU Campaign shirt is available for bulk purchase at any point in time. For an exact quote please contact us through the website or send an email to info@nucampaign, and we will get back to you as soon as possible, with more details.

How secure are your online payments?

We use PayPal Gateway for payments, and PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available).

What forms of payment do you accept?

All payments for pledged gifts are made via Paypal. If you do not have a Paypal account, you can pay via credit card, on the Paypal check-out page (without signing in.)Paypal accepts all major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Can I return my shirt if I am no satisfied?

Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction. In general, unworn shirts can be exchanged within 15 days of delivery. Please include a copy of the packing slip that was sent with your original purchase. If a product is defective, it may be exchanged for a new product which will be shipped to you at no additional charge. If you have further questions please contact us. How do I edit my campaign?

You can access your campaign at any moment by clicking ‘Sign-Up’ (top right of website.) Enter your username and password you and you will get immediate access. You may make changes to individual fields at any point during the campaign

How do I get help?

How do I edit my campaign?

You can access your campaign at any moment, by clicking ‘Sign-Up’ (top right of website.) Enter your username and password and you will get immediate access. To edit individual fields within your campaign, select the field you want and edit/add/delete any piece of information you want.

How do I retrieve my forgotten password?

Having password trouble? Click on ‘Forgot Password’ on the ‘Sign-Up’ page and enter your email address when requested to do so. An email will be send to you with instructions on how to retrieve or change your password.

How do I login to my account?

Go to ‘Sign-Up’ (top right of website) and enter your username and password. Once done, you will be able to access your account and campaign/s and make changes.

How can I change a shirt I bought?

When should I expect to receive my shirt?

Pledged gifts will be shipped at the end of the campaign. International shipping takes approximately 2-4 weeks, depending on the postal services and customs processing in your country. Bulk orders take between 3-5 business days, as long as no delays in customs.
NU Campaign takes no responsibility for delays in shipping due to external  postal services.

Does my design for campaign belong to me?

As long as the design you use is yours and does not belong to any third party, then yes, you are the owner of the design.

Can I see who contributed to my campaign?

Yes, if you click on ‘Backers’ above the Main Image on your campaign page, you will see a list of all your supporters. There is an option for people to hide their identities, when making purchases, so take into account, that possibly, not all your supporters will be displayed

What happens if I sell more than my target goal?

Get a bottle of champaign and celebrate!! There is no limit to the amount of shirts you can sell and if your campaign exceeds the target goal, the amount will continue to rise, according to Pledged gifts made.

How long should my campaign run for?

You may set your campaign for as long as you want but we advise to set a short time-period (1-2 months)  encouraging supporters to buy sooner then later and giving you a focused period to achieve maximum results!

What should I set as the target goal?

There is no limit on your target goal. We advise you to set a realistic goal for your campaign and even perhaps a bit lower then what you think you could achieve. This way, if you sell more, you will be happy and will feel the campaign has been successful.

How many words should the project overview be?

Your project overview information, displayed in the campaign summary box, on the ‘Campaign’ page, should be kept short and straight to the point. We suggest 40 words (2 sentences) is enough to give potential supporters enough incentive to enter your campaign!

How long should my project description be?

There is no limit to the amount of text you can enter. Our recommendation is to keep it short enough to be interesting but long enough to include all the necessary information, capturing the essence and importance of your story.

Why do you print text on the inside of the shirt?

So that your supporters carry your story inside their hearts and represent it with pride wherever they go!

How long should the inside text be?

The maximum length of the inside text is a one page Microsoft Word Document. However, sometimes less is more, and the impact could be greater with a shorter, more appealing piece of information. Feel free to use quotes, stories, parables, poems, mission statements and more…be creative!

How do I upload my campaign Youtube video?

On the Start a Campaign page, copy and paiste your Youtube video link in the ‘Featured Video URL (optional)’ field. It is optional to add a video but from our experience, crowd-funding campaigns with a video, tend to have better results!

How do I upload additional gallery images?

On the Start a Campaign page, click ‘Choose File’ under Additional Gallery Images (Optional)’ and your computer browser will open. Select the images you want from your computer and they will be displayed under the main cover image on your campaign page.

How do I prepare my main cover image?

1. Choose the product type you want for your campaign on the ‘Start a Campaign’ page, by clicking the small circle underneath the product image. (Crew-neck Shirt, V-neck shirt, Running shirt or Hoodie.)
2. Available colors for this product will automatically be displayed underneath – click on the color you want.
3. Click on the ‘Download Blank Artwork’ button, which will now appear and the Template Zip file, with your selected product image, will download to your computer, with included graphic instructions.
4. Send this Zip file to your graphic designer or edit the Cover Image yourself.You may edit it with any graphics, images or effects you want, except for the color of the shirt you select and the product image displayed on the graphic.

What can I do to make my NU Campaign successful?

Successful campaigns are a result of having an awesome T-shirt design, a compelling story and the ability to promote the campaign out to as many people as possible – after all the more people that know about your campaign, the higher the chances to sell as many shirts!
Here are a few tips from our team to get good results:
a. Make sure you are confident with your Shirt design and that you think it will sell – show it to a few people before you start and get their feedback
b. Select a specific fundraising purpose for your campaign – people will be more willing to contribute to campaigns with a specific cause.
c. Write a compelling Project description, Inside Story Text (printed by wearer’s heart) and Project Overview – a good story can have a big impact!
d. Add a video to your campaign – its optional, but research shows that crowd-funding campaigns with a promotional video get better results. Simple videos can work and an honest, sincere appeal from you or your team, can make a difference!
e. Set the right Pledged Gift amounts – do some research and see what people in your target audience will pay for your product? Ask yourself, what would you pay for someone else’s campaign product?
f. Build your team – recruit a pre-launch team of friends and colleagues to promote your campaign when it goes live!
g. Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest and Email – share it to your world!
h. Contact the media – send a press-release to local newspapers, magazines, journalists and key people in your target audience!
i. Work hard!!

How do I promote my NU Campaign?

Here are a few ways to get your campaign seen by as many people as possible:
a. Produce a Youtube video about your campaign and share it with all your friends
b. Share your campaign link via Facebook, Twitter, Pininterest and other social media sites. Contact your friends with a personal message to support your campaign. (see links to social networks on the campaign page)
c. Email – send an email to as many email contacts you have – write them a compelling message and attach the link of your campaign to the email
d. Contact the media – send a press-release to local newspapers, magazines, online sites, blogs and journalists. People love to share cool and interesting information.
e. Order your shirt in bulk from NU Campaign and get friends and family members walking around spreading the message
f. Run an offline campaign to connect people at your school, work, community or organization to your campaign.
