Every shirt printed with the story of the cause, on the inside
by your heart, so you carry it with you and represent it
with pride wherever you go!
I’ve got your back, my brother.” Whether you say it to yourself or to the person next you, we promise that it will only lead to good things. For those less familiar, ACHI is one of the most ubiquitous words heard on the streets of Israel. Spanning borders and generations, religions and ethnicities, the whole country responds to ACHI. From before kindergarten, children grow up with this phrase on their lips, well before they meet the rough political landscape of Israel. By wearing this shirt, we want to bring back that juvenile innocence to our lexicon. Although it seems to have been forgotten, before anything else, we must remember that we are all brothers, sons of Shem, and we must “have each other’s back,” like family. This shirt was inspired by the song, Shir La’Shalom, its lyrics bloodstained in Yizchak Rabin’s (former Prime Minister of Israel) breast pocket at the time of his assassination. The chorus goes as follows: “So sing only a song for peace, do not whisper a prayer. Better sing a song for peace with a shout.” It is our hope that this shirt will “shout” peace; ultimately aiding us to overcome our differences and live in harmony with all of our “ACHI”s.
I got your back “ACHI,” My Brother!
